Reflection of 2015

2015 has been an amazing experience for me, because of how close our friendships have become here at Point England School with how we communicate and how we learn in the digital world.

This year we had heaps of trips, special people coming to visit us like Andrew Patterson, we went to Polyfest, Year 8 leadership camp, students from Tamaki College to talk to the Year 8’s and preparing them for college for next year and there's one more trip to come…  we're going to Parakai.

Since I only came last year in 2014 it was really great for my first time in a new school, seeing new faces and having new teachers in different learning areas.

The bond that everyone had with each other was really amazing they cared for each other and helped one another if we weren’t having a great day. Each and everyone are all different.

We have different cultures from other people and they had learn’t more about their own cultures and other people’s culture to be more pride of who they are and what comes for them in the future.

For the new teachers in team 5 they did pretty well for their first time in Point England School and having faith in the students learning.

My home class teacher is Mr Wiseman. He’s great to be honest for his first time on the first day, I wanted to to be in his class when I first met him, when he introduced himself.

I remember when Mrs Tele’a was calling out the names for the class, I was the first one in the whole block to be called out that was really awkward. Mr Wiseman is a really good teacher he boosted everyone's confidence throughout the year and made everyone participate in all the activities that came up.

Being in his class has made me think twice about my actions and the words that come out of my mouth. The first Term we had with Mr Wiseman was really not so great I didn't want to do stuff in the classroom and just played around and follow the people in my class because I thought that's what you were supposed to do in class that made you get attention from other people.

But when Mr Wiseman told me in Term 1 “ That's not how you behave in class and if you still do it in College it will get u no where in life and do you really want that in your report to let your parents see what you have been upto.”

I’ve changed from Term 1 to Term 4 by my Attitude, behaviour, actions, of what I say and knowing more people to be my friend and not just hanging out with a certain crowds but always bouncing around to other people to see if they want to play a game or just chill out if we don’t want to play around when it’s hot.

The teachers helped us with our learning and our problems. At my old school it’s really different from Point England. The learnings different, the teachers way of teaching us was different, the bond that everyone has together with the other students, the teachers and the rules that we have.

I have Mrs Tele’a as a Numeracy teacher. She’s a really good teacher she is the leader of this block and the leader of the team. She helped everyone when she had time. Usually she worked with each group, in the time that she had with us. How she taught students was really cool because even if a student said the answer wrong she didn’t just say “ NO THAT’S WRONG” she always replied nicely with a great response.

Mrs Tele’a cared for each and every other student in the block like they were her own children. But when the students were misbehaving she still loved them with care and kindness.

My favorite memory was the Year 8 leadership camp. We learnt how to lead others into success. I still remember the Fiafia night when we were at camp, it was so cool seeing other groups get up on the stage and giving it their best. I love that the teachers participated in the activities that they provided for us to have fun in the activities. When we left we knew when we arrive in Term 2 that we will lead the school when we go and we will leave Point England School to the next year 8’s  that will learn how to lead the school into making their dream a reality.
This is my last year at Point England school. I’m going to College next year I am going to Auckland Girls Grammar School. I heard it’s a really good school I can’t wait. Point England School has helped me with what I wanna be and what I wanna do with my life when I get older.

I officially want to be a pro lacrosse player. Since the game is now becoming popular I’ve seen people play and it’s an interesting game. To be a  pro Lacrosse player I will practice and show up to trainings and give it my 100%.

This year I rate myself a 9/10. Because I was always getting in trouble for talking too much in class and not talking about what we were learning about than talking about what was happening yesterday. What I'm going to focus on next year and the years after I choose to focus more on my education to see if  I’ve done pretty well and achieving more goals.

Dusty Room - Group Task -

Dusty Room

Tearing walls ripping down

The smell of mold goes round and round

The taste of black Liquorice  makes everything vicious

Windy sounds come rushing through in different areas of the room
From wall to wall the smell gets stronger
Inside and outside no smell of delight
Trapped all alone and nowhere to go
But no need to stress it's just a big mess

Walking through the door

we notice the ripped walls

moulded roofs
with rats crawling through

and cockroaches

crawling round and round

As I arrived in the room I looked down.

And I see Paint falling off the roof and I start to drown

I could smell a Musty smell on the wall.
Than I start feeling small.
When I looked around I can hear the Mouse's footsteps running on the roof.
But I wish it would be soundproof
As I drew the Curtains then I feel goosebumps coming up my arm
As I walk around the room I have this kind of dry taste in my mouth like I want to spew it out.

The room starts to rumble
 The ceiling began to crumble
Smelling mould
I start to get a cold
Everything’s broken
And it can’t be spoken
Disgusting floors
Covered in paint
Broken draws
I wanted to faint

Word Problems - Tapawha - T4 - W6

This is my Working out to show how I worked out my word problems for Maths. I found this hard at the first time but when I saw that you could work it out by doing equations, then I found it easy to work out.

Where is Dora?

Where is Dora?

When I was 6 years old. My brother, my nana and I went to go get some Mcdonalds. When we were waiting for our food we went to go play in the playground. Whenever we went somewhere I bought my Dora doll with me all the time anywhere and whenever.

First when I arrived at the playground I took my shoes off then grabbed my doll and then started to play with it. I pretended I was in a magical fairy tale with Dora and started playing around. Then my nana came in and told us to come for lunch. So I left my Dora in her castle and left her their.

Then when I left to go toilet I ran straight to the playground and Dora was missing so I ran straight to my brother and asked if he’s seen my doll. I kept on looking around, then 5 minutes later I saw a girl leaving the building with the exact same doll in her hands.

After that I wanted to go get it but it was already too late to go get it back. So I was crying all the way back home.

When I saw that girl with my doll I felt very angry and sad at the same time. When I arrived home I cried even more cause I can't get dora out of my head any more. But I was so devastated that I won't see dora anymore. Afterwards I told my mum and then a week after I had a dora doll in my hands, 6 years later I still have it.

Immersion Assembly T4 W1

Immersion Assembly T4 W1

Once sorted and ready for school I wondered what will happen in immersion assembly. I arrived at school feeling tired and excited at the same time. Today we were going to find out what topic we were going to focus on this last term of school.

We did our normal routine where everyone sits down and lines up in their class lines and do the karakia, mihi and himene Mrs Tele’a usually one of the teachers tell us special notices and telling us what we were going to do today. She told us that we had our Immersion assembly now. When we arrived in the hall there were teachers in costumes and silly hats and silly clothing when we sat down whenever we look straight ahead it said
“ SURVIVORS.”

Then the first item came on and it was team 1 Miss George talked to us about what they were going to be doing during the term. They’re going to be learning about different kind of animals and going to the zoo.
The next item was team 2 and team 3 they’re going to focus on dinosaurs and team 3 are going to invent their own dinosaurs this term. Team 4 and team 5 are going to learn about different kind of animals that are soon going to be instinct. Team 5 are going to learn about how humans adapt thru their culture.

My favorite item was the team’s 5’s item because they were acting out how to survive. They made a skit about how other human beings adapt thur their whole life. We were going to learn about how animals survive and how humans adapt thru their culture. I couldn't wait for this term because for the year 8’s it’s going to be our last year and then we're going to go college next year. I can't wait for the big journey that's going to come my way.

I'M THE WINNER

I’m the WINNER!!
Warming up on the track with my other teammates eyeing each other out. I can hear the crowd yelling my name. Cameras flash lights in my face like I’m important and people asking me questions about the race.

First they told us to come up and get ready on the start line. Ready… Steady… BANG went the gun and off we went.

Then I was running as fast as I could trying not to get distracted by the people taking photos of us running. I can feel my heart racing as fast as I was running.

Afterwards I realised that I just crossed the finish line having smiles on my face and camera lights in my face while trying to see my fans and high fiving them and congratulating my fellow runners.

After my run I felt on top of the world because I came 1st and receiving my gifts from the judges. When I came back I had a big headache of all the noise’s from the crowd. I think I have achieved my goal from running this race. Finished another face now I have many more to come… Let the journey begin

How to prevent yourself from getting sick

People these days are getting sick because of the bad cold weather. Everyone is getting sick because they’re not taking care of their body and there are many ways for people to get sick very easily. This is my guide to how to prevent yourself from getting sick. So listen very closely because being sick is very not nice.

One of the easiest ways of staying healthy is eating a balanced range of food. This means eating from the 5 food groups with a focus on fruits and vegetables. If you do that then your body will receive all the nutrients it needs to be in the best condition to fight off invading germs.

Another way to prevent yourself from getting sick is to not shake hands with a sick person. This means that if your friend or family member is sick you need to be careful while shaking their hand, you could just say “Hello”. The only way you won’t spread germs is to not shake their hand if they are sick. Don’t hug or kiss people that are sick because you want to prevent them from spreading germs to others. If you do this then you won't get sick and it will help you from not getting sick from other people around you.

One of the best ways to prevent yourself from getting sick is to not share food or drinks with others in case they are sick. This means if someone who is sick offers you food that they have already eaten you have to say “No Thank You” in case they give you food that they already ate while being sick. If you do this you won't get germs and you also won't get sick because you didn't eat the food off a sick person.

What I have learnt in a whole week

In Literacy, I have Learnt how to prevent your self from getting sick.

In the week I learnt how to write and explanation about the topic " How to prevent your self from getting sick".
We wrote three paragraphs about the topic and learning how to write an explanation. We had to give advice to the readers and hope that they will listen to the advice we give them.

Writing an explanation means explaining about the topic and learning about it while working on it. We had to define what it means to prevent yourself from getting sick. Writing and explanation kind of means explaining the topic to others.

What I have learnt from explaining how to prevent yourself from getting sick.

How can we be financially responsible?

We had a task to answer the question How can we be financially responsible. We had heaps of slides in this presentation, I learnt heaps of stuff while doing this and I hope you do too.

Wednesday 5 August 2015

Fractions, decimals and percentages

This is what I have been learning on the past few lessons with Mrs Tele'a. We have been learning about understanding the realationship between fractions, decimals and percentages. I have learnt something new about fractions, decimals and fractions. What I've learnt on this presentation that on slide 6 all we had to do is just use our 5 times table. After this I have learnt heaps of stuff like cent means 100. So together mean per 100.

Inferring W1 T3

This is what we've been doing in literacy class. What I've learnt from Inferring is being able to read between the line and when the author implies something but doesn't actually state it. You need to use the clues in the text and your own prior knowledge to help you understand. After I did the inferring activity I felt like I knew more about Inferring.

First day back T3

First day back
Excited or am I not. Term 3 nearly at college. So I arrived at school, so many hugs I got from other people. Every start of the school we always have these immersion assembly's and every term we have topics to learn about for our whole school, last term we had the topic Tinkiring tools and toys now this term our topic is Trade and enterprise. That means being financially responsible with your money.

Every time we have each team to show the whole school what they're team is learning about the whole term. So as you know Team1 went first. They were looking at how to make ice cream. They started with a movie about some kids going to the shop and buying ice cream. So they are learning about how ice cream is made and how to make ice cream.

Now it was Team 2's turn. They were learning about what you want to be when you grow up. Firstly they made a video to the song YMCA. So they were all dressed up from that they wanted to be when they grew up.

It was Team4's turn they are learning about how you would spend your money do you need to spend it on that your do you need to spend it on a useful stuff. So it was a whole act about how your emotions control your mind about your choices.

Now it was Team5's turn that's year 7 and 8's we are going to learn about how do we spend our money on useful things and should we be spending that money on things that we need. First they did an act about how to be financially responsible.

So we started Term 3. One more term than Im done for intermediate and now I'm going to college next year. It's going to be a good intermediate year. I'm going to miss Pt England.

Graphic organiser for Boy on a Bike

Room 1 literacy class had a task to Read a artical and as you can see the before means that what you think the book is about before you read it. During the book we had to find some words that we don't know but at the end of the story I had to find what the word means. When I did that I felt like I'm getting more smarter as I'm in the class because now I know what the other words are.

Area and Perimeter

We had a task to learn how to measure a perimeter and area of how long a width or length is. When it is perimeter you have to add length + length =   and you have to Multiply the area like length x width = . When Mrs Tele'a told us that we were learning how to find out the perimeter and the area, I was like oh my gosh I don't know how to do perimeter and area but since I've done this slide and now I know how to find out the perimeter and area of the shape, I fell good now that I know more maths problems.

High lights, goals and HAVE FUN IN THE HOLIDAYS

My main three highlights of this term for me was, going to Melbourne during school for a whole week, learning how to use my emotions in poetry and how to use my five senses and my last highlight was when we started to do netball and when we started we were pretty good as a team.

When it was grading time we only had three games we won two games and lost one and we are the top of the grading list in netball out of the whole schools that participate in netball.

Two things in Term 3 that i’m going to try improve is: Trying to go for every sport since i'm a house captain. Trying to learn my multiplication and the other maths problems out and trying not to use my fingers all the time.

Before the year ends I want to make sure that I am a really good role model to the years under us and when we go to college we will all succeed and have a good future ahead of us. While we are at school some of us will know already what we want to be when we grow up.

Well wishes for the holidays. Hope you have a good time in the holidays. Wish you guys have fun for whatever you're doing with your family. If you're not doing anything and you're just on technology go to the closest park or something.

Help your parents out in the house or your caregivers and just try not to stay on tech all day, try learn something new, listen and have fun. Don't get hurt and come back to school with a broken part on your body and be safe, bye have fun in the holidays see you in the holidays maybe HAVE FUN.

Maths Whizz homework

This is my usage of minutes on Maths whizz. I'm supposed to have 30 mins in a week, but then I reached it, then I started to continue. One of the lessons were really hard because it was multiplication. To be honest i'm kinda good at my multiplication, but sometimes when I have trouble I sometimes shut down on my multiplication, the only two things I need to work on, is remembering my multiplication like how I remember the song lyrics and Trying not to use my hands on how I figure out the answer for the question. I'm feeling confident about my maths whizz cause most of the lessons that Mrs Tele'a send me are the ones that I need to work on.

I think I have really improved in maths because one of my goals were moving up a group in Maths so I achieved that goal. I am so proud of my self and confident when i'm doing Maths.

Last day in Melbourne

Last day in Melbourne

Boo. Last day in Melbourne. We had to go down stairs again because we had to have a buffet breakfast. Afterwards we finished, so we had to go upstairs and get changed.

Due to the time we had to go to town. When we arrived at town we went to heaps of shops first. Then we went to go have something to eat and just wander around the place. So we went to go to look around and we saw this sale at this shop. It was so cool that we were lucky that we came to Melbourne this week.

My favourite store that I went to was H&M. I don’t know what it stands for but it was awesome. When you enter the store you see like a rack full of of cloths it was awesome. But when you go further it looks like a castle. I even had to count how many floors, they had four floors and had heaps of clothes, Jewelry, Accessories, shoes, dresses and many more.

When we came back we had to get our bags from the hotel and wait for my aunty that was going to come and pick us up. While we were waiting, another family had to leave and come back to New Zealand. My aunty and her daughter arrived at the hotel where we were.

When they picked us up we had a little bit of trouble putting our luggage in, but one. The only luggage that was really hard putting in was the pram, so we took all the wheels off and made it fit. So then we had to go have dinner, we had dinner at grilled, It was a burger place.

When we arrived, the time was 7:10 am. That was the time I usually wake up. But when I woke up the time was 2:10 pm. I had so much fun having a holiday with my family and friends. Experiencing Melbourne is awesome, it made me think of what I wanna be but I didn't get the picture of what I wanna be yet.

Sunday 21 June 2015

4th day in Melbourne

Fourth day in Melbourne

Going to sleep on two beds in the middle on the bed and waking up in the middle on the floor. That Morning I was so hungry then my mum said “ Get ready then go down stairs, so you can get something to eat.” I was so confused, but then they told us after that we were having a breakfast buffet. So I got ready and just ran out the door with my cousin and my brother we were both having a race seeing who will get their first.

Arrived, my cousin and I won the race, soon as I saw the rest of my the people that were there we just found a table to sit on. Afterwards I just went up after I was ready and just started to get myself a big breakfast. When I saw there was a pancake machine I was so happy, so I got two pancakes and put nutella spread on it. Having a foul stomach it felt like I was going to die, but I still had two bowls of coco pops and apple juice.

Due to the time we had to do something so we were all deciding if we should go with the boys to lazer tag or go with the ladies and go shopping. I wanted to go shopping and go lazer tag, but the other girls wanted to go lazer tag and the boys didn't want us to come, so we decided to go stay at the hotel and have fun in the pools. Eventually the time went past it was so late we were in there for 3 hours but the last hour we had a water fight it was so cool.

When they all got back we all had a plan to see if we can sleep over my cousins house so we asked our mothers if we could and they answered “ Yes.” So we were so excited, when they told us after that we were going to have dinner somewhere it would have to be somewhere near the hotel. Afterwards we went to go Nando’s, lucky it was just down the road. When we arrived we ordered then ate. Due to the the time we had to go back and pack because that was the last day that we had. So we arrived at the hotel it was really late, so we packed our bags and went to my cousins hotel.

That day was the last whole day at Melbourne that we had all together. It was really fun but i’m gonna miss Melbourne but I still had fun. It was the first holiday all together as a family because we usually go separate.

Third day in Melboure

Third day in Melbourne

GO NSW.  Today is the state of origin game. I was so excited to go tonight to the game. When I woke up I went to go to have a shower and got changed into my NSW gear, I got changed into my NSW hoodie, New South T-shirt and my baggy jeans.

Afterwards I went to go down stairs to the lobby. When I arrived I saw three of the Families that were there already in the lobby, we were waiting for the other two families to get ready, later on the one other family came thru the door because they stay at Mantra and the other family came thru the elevators in the hotel. While they were finishing their little chat, we left the hotel to catch one of the trams. When we arrived to this massive mall it was called the DFO, some of the people went to go look straight at the shops and some stayed and went to go get something to eat.

Afterwards  I was so foul I love Subway but in New Zealand in the sauces they don't have any Tomato Sauce but In Aussie they do have Tomato Sauce. Afterwards I finished having my lunch and asked the other girls my age if they wanted to go and look around, but their was one problem the “ PARENTS.” Parents would probably let us go so we asked them if we could go our separate ways. Due to the silence and looking at each other and their phone for what the time was, they finally answered “ hallelujah” they said “ Yes.” So off we went, I saw heaps of stores that I liked but the two favorite ones were Factory and Lidt.

Lidt is a chocolate store, it was full of chocolate: Chocolate spoons, chocolate bunnies, original chocolate packets and many more there's a photo of the store on my “ Melbourne Trip.” Afterwards we had to leave DFO. We were the last people they’re with another family. When we arrived at the hotel we had to get ready to go to the game, I was soo excited. When we arrived at MCG stadium we didn't have to wait that long in the line, I was expecting a long wait but we didn't have to wait that long but what was long was the stairs to our seats. When we arrived at our seats we didn't have to wait that long for the entree to the game cause when we just sat down the fireworks just started to bloom up in the sky. After the game we were all taking photo in front of the field, it was awesome the view from our seats to the field it was soo cool.

When we arrived back to the hotel it was 12:00am. It was that late but it was worth it we saw some of my mum’s work friends and some of the old family we haven't seen in years but it was nice to see them. But at the end of day I had so much fun, looking at my parents I haven't seen them like this because they were so wild and crazy about the game. But i’m glad I came to the game to I got to spend time with my family.

Saturday 20 June 2015

Second day in Melbourne

Second day in Melbourne

Waking up to the beautiful sound of my baby sister crying. When I looked at the time it was 6:22 am, In New Zealand it was 8:22 am. I woke up that late because I was up the whole night until 12:23 am and in New Zealand it was 2:23 am. Although I got up and asked my mum if she needed help with the baby and she replied back “ Just hold her while I do her bottle.” So while I was holding her I tried not to make her go sleep but then lucky she was smiling enough just in time for the bottle. Meanwhile she finished the bottle and I had to burp her, while we were watching TV.

Afterwards it was 8:22. So I asked mum if we could go to level 9 and go have a try out the pool, spa, sauna and a gym. Straight away I went to go get changed into my tog’s, I saw two little buttons that had a sticker with words on top of it. The first sticker said “ spa bubbles” then I looked over and while I pressed it behind me and one of the pools started to bubble and foam up and the other one said “ pool bubbles” and it had on of the buttons that we could press so it can start. Afterwards it was 10:16 I had to check on the dryer to see if the dryer was finished.

Eventually we had to leave the pool. We left because we wanted to go get ready because we had a long day ahead of us. Afterwards we went to go down stairs to the lobby where we saw everyone our family and friends who came with us. So when we went to go to catch the tram we were going to this place called Harbor town. Harbor Town have famous outside stores, there were many stores that I liked, like: Factory, Valley Girl, Nike factory store, Adidas, Rebel Sport, Platypus, Hype, Osmosis and Many more.

Due to the weather it started to get cold and dark. So we went to go catch the tram, when we went to catch the tram we had to go back to the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, we went to go pack our bags away and get changed if we wanted to get changed into warmer clothes. Afterwards some of our cousins came up to our room and asked if we were coming to “ Crown” and my mum answered “ Yep, be there in a second.” Waiting for the elevator to go down, when we arrived no one was there, so we started to go to the other hotel where two of our families were staying. They were staying at Mantra, Mantra wasn't that far from our hotel.

We were going to pick them up because we had to go somewhere called “ Crown Buffet.” When we saw a group of people coming towards us. I ran up to go hug one of my cousins that came with us, I was so excited that she was here. When we started to walk we were all in groups, when we arrived at the buffet we had to wait in line, the line wasn't that big and we didn't have to long.

I felt at the end of day that we all would have the best holiday together for the whole week. Today was so awesome because when you go on a tram you can see everything that goes past. Seeing Melbourne for the first time  is such an experience. Its so cool I wish I could come back again.

First day at Melbourne

Going to Melbourne

Afterwards we were landing I had the most hurtful pain in my body, It was on my face and it was near my ear. It was hurting so bad that if you want it to go away you would have to chew something invisible or you would have to get something really chewy and chew on it. Mean while we were landing we were still listening to music or watching movies on the screens in front of us but then, we were erupted by the speakers telling us that we have landed and told us to un fasten our seat belts.

Afterwards they told us to put everything up in front of us and give the rubbish to the flight attendants while they come and collect anything. Eventually it was all finished we have already landed ( still have the ache in my ear) so as we were packing our stuff we had to be the last ones out of the plane because we had heaps to worry about like my sister and our luggage. But we had to change our sister because she was dribbling heaps on her jacket and we had to change her nappy. While we were walking in the hallway we took a milestone baby card out and we got the blank one and wrote “ Today I flew on the plane for the first time.”

Meanwhile we had to head down to get our luggage, while we were waiting we had get the two trolleys for the luggage to go on. It was really hard to get the trolleys because like the trolley bars you have to push down to keep it going and if you don't it will automatically have a break when you try push it. Meanwhile we finish collecting all our luggage, when we went to go outside we saw the person that was coming to pick us up it was my mum’s cousin. While she was driving it was a really good chance to see interesting stuff that are in Melbourne. While we're going on the motorway we went on one of the bridges called “ Bolt bridge.”

When we arrived we saw a big bus that said on the back “ Coaches, Blues” it something else on the end but I forgot. While we were walking in my dad saw a coach of one of the teams he really like’s and the team was NSW the best team in state of origin, we were sleeping in the the same hotel as NSW the best State of origin team. So he just shouted “ GO THE BLUES” and he laughed and just fist pumped the air while he was entering the hotel. Eventually we were waiting for long until I told dad to look at the TV but then he started to look at something else that went past the TV it was the captain of NSW “ PAUL GALLEN.” As soon as we saw him, my dad asked if we could take a photo with him, so he said yea sure, so we took a photo with him and my dad said “ GOOD LUCK FOR WEDNESDAY.”

Soon as I knew it we had to go up the elevator and go set up our room. Eventually we were done so my mum and dad tried to get in contact with my aunty and her family that came with us, but we couldn't get in hold with them. After a few more tries they picked up so we asked them: where they were.? So they answered “ Town just down the road from the hotel, all you need to do is catch the nearest tram stop from the hotel.” So we arrived at the tram it was so cool on the tram because I was playing this game with my brother when you can't hold onto anything and try stay on two feet like your feet are glued to the floor.

So we arrived at the SBS center it’s just an ozzy version of “ Aotea square” in town. As soon as I got to go to look at what was written on the floor my family already we on the stairs going to meet my aunty and her family. Soon as we saw some other people busking their art on the street it was awesome because they just do whatever, comes to mind. While I was looking for my Aunty and her family I got really distracted and went to this type of store called “ Hypes” it was a kind of shoe store it sells heaps of shoes that were like Nike and Vans. Afterwards we found my aunty and her family we just started to look at shoe stores.

Due to the time we went to go to look at china town and went to target. Target is a mall in Melbourne with many different stores just like Sylvia Park does but smaller. We had a little snack to eat and we all had Sushi Jin it’s just like New Zealand all these stores in Melbourne. Meanwhile the parents were talking and it was really boring just listening to them laugh, it would be more fun if we could hear them, so we asked our parents if we could go to target and look around at the toys: Bop it. So when our parents came to pick us up to go back.

However out of nowhere I saw two glowing items, one of the glowing items were the Eiffel tower on a building, The other glowing item was a concert. When we arrived the performance just started it was an  Aboriginal lady singing a song about her four origins the song was called “ The broken song.” After we all took photos of her performance and how it was set up it was beautiful but she wasn't the only performer. When we were saying bye to my auntys and uncles and my cousins we were going to go catch the tram to go back to to the hotel.

When we arrived at the hotel, me and my brother were huffing and puffing but then when we saw who was in there it was the other members that were going to join us it was just one family. When they were all settled in they came down to us  and said that they are ready, I was so confused until my aunt says that we're going to go have KFC for dinner. So we finished having dinner and went to go do grocery shopping at
“ coals” the Australian version of countdown in New Zealand. Besides we had to go home and have a good rest so we can be awake for the whole day for tomorrow.

When we were leaving on the plane I was so nervous now i'm here its so awesome. I haven't been on the plane since 7 years. The only thing I like about this trip is that this our first trip altogether. I’m going to have so much fun in Melbourne. GO NSW

LOVE Poem

In Literacy class we had a task for writing. The task was "Poetry" it might seem like a normal poem but it isn't part of the task was to use our five senses. Our five senses are: Taste, smell, sight, hearing and felling. We had a chance to choose from our emotions from within us they're were many emotions. My emotion was Love, I had to us my five senses and what the colour of Love looks like.
Afterwards when I fished my poem I started to fell why the writers of the poem really like poetry because when they write they could write anything what they are thinking about the topic they are doing. When they write they reach down to their heart and they write what ever they are feeling down in they're heart. When I was writing it felt like I was going to cry when i finished my poem. I hope you enjoy my Poem when you read it ENJOY.

Future Aspirations

Future Aspirations

Yesterday Morning, in the year 7 and 8’s, we heard from some inspired people. The Inspired people were Louis Gordon Latty and Marcus Winter, but he is known as the “ Sand Man.” They talked to us about how Andrew Patterson found them.

The first speaker was, Andrew Patterson. Andrew Patterson talked to us about how he finds inspiring people to talk to us about their lives and what they do for a living. During his talk to us he was talking to us about some quotes that he thinks that is really inspiring. Some of the quotes that i really like is: “ Do more of what makes you AWESOME.” I really like that quote because it means that what you like to do for life and someone's telling you that you can't do it you do it even bigger. Andrew Patterson is really inspiring he finds amazing, inspiring and awesome people so they can inspire kids like us, to lead us to what we want to be when we grow up.

After Andrew Patterson, was another speaker. His name was Marcus Winter, he is known as the “ Sandman.”  Andrew Patterson saw how Marcus Winter made Sand Art and he thought it was really awesome Eventually when he came to talk to us, he talked to us about how he was busking and transported from the Otara streets to Queen Street. While he was in Queen Street. He was talking to us about how he was in Otara streets how he was thinking, how he was thinking was “ how he does his work and where he does his work” he was telling us about how he transported from Otara streets to Queen streets in the city. After All, he was talking to us about how he started his sand art carrier. Meanwhile in his talk he was talking about when Afterwards it was coming to the end of his speech. I think he was really inspiring to the people that really want to be creative with their art. Marcus Winter is really creative with his Sand Art.

However the next guest speaker came to talk to us about what he does for a living. His name was Louis Gordon Latty. Afterwards he asked us the question “ Who wishes to watch their own sport games like Basketball, Netball and rugby etcetera etcetera.” everyone replied but they didn't reply like saying yes or no, but they replied from putting there hands up, Mostly everybody put there hands up. Afterwards he asked us if we all wanted to watch a Basketball game from last night, afterwards he put a game on the big TV. What Louis does for a living is that, he makes a app, to watch your own game that captures everything in the game.

Afterwards it was coming to an end to the future aspiration speakers. After all of the speakers, like usual three of the prefects have to say thank you for your participation in the future aspirations then the prefects gave them a little present from all of the year 7 and 8’s. When we came back to class, in my head I was thinking what would I be when I grow up. When I saw Marcus Winter just standing i asked him if he has any words for people that wanted to be a dancer when they grow up, so he just said to keep practicing, make your own choreography and lastly make your own dance crew. Afterwards he said to me if you want to be a dancer you need another job to do. Now that's what i like about future aspirations because they can inspire you to be anything.
