ANZAC Memorial

ANZAC Day Memorial

Lest We Forget. Over the past couple of days an ANZAC Memorial appeared next to the senior area. While we were sitting down we had to be quiet to show respect to the people who died for us on that field. All of the crosses were on a big patch of grass, showing on the crosses were the names of people that died in the first world war one.

The crosses represented the people that died in the army. In the front of all of the crosses wrote the unknown soldier. It said that on the cross because when the people that were finding the body’s on the field, they found a body that no one noticed him because in those days they didn't have any D.N.A. test so thats why in the front it is written “ THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER” on the cross.

At the back of the memorial was Mr Jacobson painting on the big white empty wall. On the big white wall he was painting a big red poppy. While I was sitting down some words popped up into my head, some of the words were Respect because we should actually respect what the men did for us in the war, family was another word that popped up into my head because all I was thinking of were how the kids felt when they found out that their fathers or grandfathers had died and Sisters crying about the man of there life that just died in the war, Thank you was another word that popped into my head because we didn't get to say thank you to the other people that survived that bad disaster and we would like to say thank you for winning the war for our country.

Afterwards I had to think about some symbols and Images that appeared in my mind. While I was looking at the crosses some images came to my mind was one symbol was a poppy, it was a poppy because that represents the Soldiers in. How I was feeling about the Memorial, I was feeling sad because the boys had to go to war when they were 15 years of age. I was imagining if the war was still on my brother and my dad would of gone to war it would of been devastating for my mum and I. What I would like to ask the men that retired and lived from the war is “ What type of training did you guys do before the war started between the other fo’s that you were about to face off in the war?.”

We should not forget the soldiers who died for us and what they did in the war. This whole memorial is for us I would like to say Thank you and sorry to the soldiers that are now retired, Thank you for fighting  in the war for us and sorry for you friends that died in the war. I am so sorry to the families that lost their lost ones and loved ones. Lest We Forget

Uncle Grahams Farm

My Maths task was to create a slide of a uncle or aunty. So i made it up and named it Uncle Graham.

ANZAC Memorial

My literacy class had a task to go outside and look at the memorial. Mr Wiseman told us to fill out a presentation, while we were looking outside at the memorial and the drawing that Mr Jacobson was painting on the empty wall behind the memorial. In this picture it already had some questions for us to answer, the questions were like Words that come to my mind when the whole literacy class looks at it.
