Fia Fia

On Wednesday 9th of April at 7:00 the whole school all did Fia fia. Fia fia is when we do cultural group performances.

I was in the Fijian group. This might be the first Fijian fia fia group in the school.

My highlights of my Fijian group is when I got to represent my culture and the last highlight was the food.

I felt really nervous when I sat down and then they called out Senior Samoans. Then that was our turn to get up and lineup. But we weren’t after the senior Samoans we were after Red Remix the school band. Then it was our turn, when I got on stage and started to dance I was really confidence and I wasn’t nervous.

We did a cultural dance called a Meke and we all had fun on the stage and we all kept on smiling.

When I got on stage I couldn’t see anything or anyone all I could see is the sound tent it was really bright. Everyone was really excited for every group. But all I could hear was people screaming names.

Once upon a time there was a girl named Cherla.She lived in a small Cottage in the forest. Cherla was really fast she could beat anyone in the forest.But she had mental problems.She had mental problems because when she was five years old her parents left her so she was alone for 15 years.She solved the problem by finding her parents and wanting to know who they are.

One Direction

One direction is a British-Irish boy band. they started at x factor on 2010 in February the 10th One direction travels around the world. One time one direction came to New Zealand for a concert this was the first time they came to New Zealand Its probably the last time they come to New Zealand and then they travel the whole world.

The first album was “ Up all night.” Up All Night is the debut studio album by English-Irish boy band One Direction, released by Syco Records in November 2011 in Ireland and the United Kingdom, followed by a worldwide release during 2012. Here are some songs from the album: “ What makes you beautiful, gotta be you, one thing, more than this, up all night, I wish, tell me lie, taken, i want, everything about you, same mistakes, save you tonight, stole my heart, stand up, moments, another world, Na Na Na and i should have kissed you.” they did that whole album at Disney world at america and more other places.

The second album was “ Take me home” Take Me Home is the second studio album by British-Irish band One Direction, released on 9 November 2012 by Sony Music Entertainment. Here are some songs for the album: live while we’re young, kiss you, little things, come on come on, last first kiss, heart attack, rock me change  my  mind, I would, over again, back for you and they don’t about us then there was. They did that whole album at Hong Kong and more other places.

Then there was “midnight memories” Midnight Memories is the third studio album by English-Irish boy band One Direction, released on 25 November 2013 by Columbia Records, Syco Music and Sony Music here are some songs from the album: Best song ever, story of my life Diana,midnight memories, you and i, don’t forget where you belong, strong, happily, right now, black dress, through the dark, somewhere great, little white lies, better than words, why don’t we go there, does he know and alive half a heart they did the whole album at New Zealand and more other places.

Tamaki Sport

Tamaki Sport

Every Friday team 5 classes always walk down to Tamaki. We have to go there because The tutors need to be on level 3 and we need fitness to get some exercise, Fitness, out of class, walking and local and muscles.

All of team 5 experience are 7 groups,1-12 people in a group, its always mixed with boys and girls, we all have two tutors and we all have different activities in our groups.Our fitness is really Important because our lower cholestrol levels, we could be healthier, fitter, we might lose weight, we could be athletic, easier to participate, avoid diabetes and have more fun.

Tamaki Collage is located in Glen Innes, Tamaki, The culture is Maori and Polynesian, siblings, ex Pt England students students, tutors-year 12 sports, we need leadership and NCEA (if you don’t know what that means it means when a school comes and visits.) We do all lots of sports like high jump, flipping, running, trist group, ruthless and play games.

What you will need to prepare for the cyclone?

We will need:

Life jackets just in case we might drown in the flood, we should stay inside and keep safe, pack some food.Fill some water bottles, and pack Radio along with batteries, candles and torch. Sand bags to cover the doors just in case there will be a flood and it won’t go in the house,black paper bags, pack some stuff just in case you will be rescued and you will go somewhere safe.Emergency kit, first aid,portable cooker,event planners kit,

What is a cyclone?

A cyclone is a mini tornado, rain, trees falling down, its really cold, it might start hail, the boats on the sea might get tangled up and ruin the boats.it might start a hurricane, it might hurt someone, it might start storm and lightning. Gail force of winds, we might not even start school and the roofs of houses or anywhere might break off.

Bula Vinaka!

This year the whole school is doing Fia Fia for a very special occasion. Everyone has joined different groups, I’m in the Fijian group. We  have learnt lots of moves and at the moment we are in the second verse of the song. Our dance moves are very traditional.

Our tutors are really funny. Their names are Mel and Mitty, and they already know what to do. When we get things wrong they know what we should do instead and correct us. We have really funny tutors. We have practices every Thursday at 2:00pm.

It is amazing being in the Fijian group. It’s really fun because I never knew that much about my culture but now I know  a lot about where I come from. We have really sharp dance moves that starts slow in the beginning and ends really fast. We have really nice songs and we are dancing to a Fijian band called “ Black Rose”. It’s an awesome song. I really enjoy my group. It’s really a lot of fun.

I can’t wait to perform cause It’s my first time doing a Fijian dance and It’s the first time the school is doing a Fijian group.

Sketch up

What is Sketch up? It's a design project so you can make anything and you can do anything on it. It designs 3D objects that you can print out on a 3D printer. There are lots of drawing tools. There is a pencil which  makes straight lines, a rubber, a square, a circle, a hexagon, and a hand which you can move around. There is a rotating tool and there are other tools that you can use.

Who uses Sketch up? Everyone uses Sketch up, even designers, teachers, parents and students. It's really fun when everyone uses it.

What it is used for?

Sketch up is used to design anything. You will learn something like you never knew that you can print something out of a 3 D printer.

How do you use it?

You go on a device like an  I pad, or computer, or net book. You will need internet for Sketch up you could download the program. You will need a keyboard. You will need a file to save all your work.

What are the tools/special features?

There is tools like a rotating tool, pull out box, shapes, shift pad, eraser, tool bar, pencil (for straight lines), selector, free hand and a measuring tape.

Why is it special?

You can create anything in 3 D and print it out as a 3 D object's. you can learn something from it.
