Future Aspirations
On Wednesday 2nd of July at 9:30 a special group came to our school. They were very important. We had to welcome them inside our street with a Waiata and we sang “ Mihi Mai Ra”. They were talking about what we can do in our future and there journey of life, and how they got into their jobs that they do now.The people that came to our school was: Andrew Patterson, Jason Sharma, Constable Faireka and Arizona Leger. Andrew Patterson Is a radio DJ, Jason Sharma is and Half Samoan half Indian and the job he does is being a Maths teacher at Tamaki College. Constable Faireka is a Cook Islander and the job he does now is a Police officer and I’d like to be one. Arizona Leger use to go to Hamilton Girls and was a head girl then she moved houses and moved to another school so she went to EGGS (EPSOM GIRLS GRAMMAR SCHOOL).
When they came up to speak to us they had to write a speech about what they did in their life and how they got their jobs. The first speech was Andrew Patterson talked about his job and what time he wakes up and what he does at his work he does a radio DJ, He wakes up at 4:00 because when they start, they start at 6:00. The second speech was Jason Sharma his speech was about how he loves maths and how he wanted to make his parents proud for being a teacher for school so he did he made his parents proud for being a teacher at Tamaki College.
Then there was the Third speech the third speech was the Police officer he was speaking about not to follow your friend and that his uncle inspired him to be a police officer he likes his job for being in the police force because he likes to help the community. The last speech was Arizona Leger her speech was about how she got head girls in both of the schools that she went to. My favourite speech was Arizona's speech cause she had heeps of enthusiasm and cause at the end she told us some tips that we could use in our life.
Tahi: Do your Mahi (Work).
Rua: Today you are you, That is truer that true there is no one who is you'er than you.
Four: Beat the door.
Five: Strive to stay alive.
